The Kentfield Collection was first created as a way for Boyd to step outside of its classic-contemporary design aesthetic. The initial concept was to draw inspiration from the vintage designs of Boyd Lighting’s archives, departing from the tailored forms and clean lines that are the hallmarks of the Boyd “look”. While maintaining the Boyd tradition of excellence in quality and craftsmanship, Kentfield creates unique and playful light fixtures. In 2002, The Kentfield Collection launched and was originally geared towards the exclusive residential niche market.  With its reputation of being the extremely luxe, glamorous (even outrageous) side of Boyd, Kentfield’s appeal reached much further than expected.  To our delight, The Kentfield Collection has not only been embraced by the world’s most sophisticated homes; but by corporations large and small, fine retail establishments, and many top-tier hotels and resorts.  Kentfield has even made it in Hollywood! After nearly a decade, The Kentfield Collection has garnered much praise and received many awards; including Best of NeoCon, GOOD DESIGN®, and Best of Year by Interior Design Magazine. With an eye towards the future, The Kentfield Collection will always be on the cutting-edge of inspired lighting design.
